Mustangs Parker/Henry Open Season with Win at USSSA Double-Double HS Division

Our first tournament of the Fall 2021 season is in the books, and we could not be more proud of these Mustangs.

It was a big ask: 'As a 14U team with 3 new members, can you hold your own against 16U & 18U class A teams?'

The answer came by way of a 7-0 tournament record, overall championship, and outscoring our opponents 52-12. It was a complete team performance marked by outstanding defense, great pitching, heads up baserunning and solid offense.

Each of our 3 pitchers notched at least 2 wins. Rylee Lenzi (2026) as the youngest member of the team won 3 including the championship game. Hailey Whidden (2025) pitched 2 complete game shutouts. Emma Shipley (2025) had 2 wins and broke one bat.

We had 10 our our 12 players hit over .400 on the weekend despite nearly every pitcher we faced being the starting varsity pitcher for their respective high school.

Alyssa Henry (2025) although primarily known as a "slapper" showed another side leading the team with 10 RBI's and the second highest slugging percentage on the team.

Kennedy Shea "KK" (2025) continues her stellar performance, leading the team with 8 steals, while hitting over .500 all weekend including a missile over the the left field fence--the sound of which shocked the opposing coach.

Adelyn Matthews (2025) showcased both her speed and power as well, swiping 7 bases and also hitting an OTF to center field into the wind.

Hannah White (2025) as a new addition had an immediate impact chipping in the 3 doubles and a triple for the 3rd highest slugging percentage.

We had numerous other offensive standouts including pitchers Rylee Lenzi & Emma Shipley hitting over .500 with clutch hits, Cate Haggerty (2025) hitting over .500 with 2 doubles...but the tournament trophy went to Jazmine Ramos-Merced (2026) who lead the team in both batting average and slugging including a homerun to dead center (also into the wind).

We had a number of opposing coaches, parents and umpires approach us to let us know how special this team is and how fun they are to watch, we couldn't agree more. Looking forward to what the rest of this season has to offer.
